Low-Cost, Sliding Scale THERAPY
Palo Santo is one of the only private clinics in Tucson that offers low-cost, sliding scale therapy. This is often provided by advanced master’s and doctoral students, post doc fellows and therapists working towards licensure. If you don’t have insurance or can’t find a therapist through your insurance, contact us here.
Please note, if you have insurance, contact a therapist directly. Individual phone numbers are available under each bio in Practitioners.
A therapist will work with you individually to understand your concerns and assist you in problem resolution or symptom management. Therapeutic modalities will include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Strategic and Family Therapy, among others.
A therapist will work with you and your partner to understand the issues causing difficulty in your partnership. This active process will assist you in finding the problematic patterns in your relationship and find effective solutions. There may be times during the course of couples therapy that the therapist will request to meet with each of you individually.
Similar to couples therapy, family therapy is a process that will uncover the problematic patterns within the family. The therapist will work with you together or with specific family members.
Group therapy is a therapeutic modality that allows group members to work together in the understanding and assimilation of new healthy behaviors. Palo Santo will offer a variety of groups throughout the year. Groups may last from 4 weeks to 8 weeks depending on the subject matter and group process. Current groups will be located under Special Offerings.
Parenting is a therapeutic modality for individuals or couples to increase the effectiveness of the ‘tools in their parenting toolbox’. This process teaches the science behind behavior management and works with each individual or couple to resolve specific problems with your child. The therapist will work with the client(s) to determine appropriate behavioral programs for each child.

EXERCISE AND NUTRITION
Exercise and nutrition coaching is helping clients develop and progress toward personal physical and nutritional goals by empowering them to take responsibility for their own health. Coaches are nutritionists, counselors, consultants, mentors and motivators all in one.
Reiki is a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
Biofeedback is a training technique that allows people to become aware of and to regulate their personal health using signals from their bodies. Body signals measured during the biofeedback process at Palo Santo include heart rate variability and respiration. With practice people can use this training to better control their mind-body responses and, in turn, lead healthier lives. Research shows that biofeedback helps people increase their coping skills, decreases stress and anxiety and improves immune function.

HeartMath is a well-tested and widely used system that trains individuals to reduce stress by focusing on their breathing and evoking heart-felt emotions. This practice promotes the development of a wave-like heart rhythm pattern that synchronizes with breathing, called ‘coherence.’ Achieving high coherence is very beneficial because it means the heart can rapidly adapt to changing physical and psychological needs resulting in focused clarity, improved emotional balance and sustained peak performance.
Acupuncture is a system of complementary medicine that involves pricking the skin or tissues with needles, used to alleviate pain and to treat various physical, mental, and emotional conditions. Originating in ancient China, acupuncture is now widely practiced in the West.
